Subject: Meet a Student for a Meal at the Usdan Marketplace

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased once again to provide staff with the opportunity to share meals with students at the Usdan Marketplace.

We introduced this program last year after hearing from many of you that being able to connect with students would be a meaningful workplace experience.  Effective immediately, each staff member will be able to enjoy up to three free meals during the course of the 2018–2019 academic year.

We encourage you to join a student for a meal at the Marketplace (2nd floor of Usdan) and learn more about their college experience.  The three meals have been loaded onto your Wesleyan ID card and can be used at any meal in the Marketplace between now and December 16 and again between January 23 and May 18, 2019. You must have your Wesleyan ID card with you, as it will need to be swiped in order to receive this benefit. If you choose to invite a student to lunch and pay for their meal, your card will be swiped twice using two of your three meals.  Most students are on a Wesleyan meal plan so by joining a student for lunch your Wes ID card would only be swiped once.

The Marketplace has wonderful breakfast, dinner and weekend brunch options and this benefit applies to those options as well.

We hope you enjoy connecting with Wesleyan students.

Best regards,

Julia Hicks

Register for the Connections Mentoring Program 2018-2019

Dear colleague,

I am writing to invite you to volunteer for the 2018-2019 Connections Mentoring Program. This is an informal program that connects first-year students (Class of 2022) with Wesleyan staff and faculty to form casual networks of support. Although most mentors meet infrequently with their student mentees throughout the year, some mentoring pairs establish friendships and meet more frequently over coffee or lunch. Many mentors and students have individually characterized their experiences with the program as fun and inspirational.  If you would like to participate in the 2018-2019 Connections Mentoring Program, please register by Friday, August 16.
